About the Role
The Development Accounting Manager will take ownership of accounting across multiple active construction projects. This role sits at the intersection of accounting, treasury, and development, with responsibility for lender reporting, construction draws, financial oversight, and team leadership.
This is a high-visibility position with direct exposure to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities

Own development accounting across multiple active construction projects

Prepare and manage monthly construction lender draws

Oversee job cost accounting, WIP/POC reporting, and variance analysis

Lead month-end and year-end close processes for development entities

Ensure compliance with lender and joint venture reporting requirements

Review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules

Manage and develop a small accounting team (3)

Partner closely with Development, Construction, and Treasury teams

Support deal closings and transition projects to property accounting upon completion
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
-
5+ years of accounting experience within real estate development or construction

Strong experience with construction draws and lender reporting

Solid understanding of job cost accounting and WIP/POC

GAAP financial reporting experience

Prior team leadership or mentorship experience

Advanced Excel skills

ERP experience preferred (Sage Intacct or Sage 300 a plus)
