About the Role
About the Company
Our client is a highly regarded specialty plumbing contractor delivering large-scale commercial and institutional projects across Texas. Their projects are coordination-intensive, where constructability, prefabrication, and installation efficiency directly impact profitability and performance.
BIM is treated as an operational production tool, not just a design exercise.
About the Role
The VDC Manager will lead BIM strategy and execution from early coordination through field installation and project closeout. This position requires a rare blend of hands-on plumbing field experience and advanced BIM/VDC capability.
This is not a purely digital role. Field credibility and practical construction knowledge are essential.

-
Own model accuracy, coordination quality, and constructability before field release
-
Enforce BIM quality standards and prevent clashes prior to coordination meetings
-
Optimize system routing for labor efficiency, cost control, and installation sequencing
-
Represent the contractor in BIM coordination meetings with GCs and trade partners
-
Support Project Managers with RFIs, change management, constructability solutions, and BOM development
-
Oversee shop drawings, spool drawings, and model-driven prefabrication workflows
-
Ensure accurate distribution of updated models and drawings to field teams
-
Coordinate layout workflows including robotic total stations and control point management
-
Provide direct field support through site visits and installation troubleshooting
-
Drive continuous improvement across BIM processes and fabrication standards
Qualification
-
Proven hands-on plumbing field experience

Advanced BIM/VDC expertise including Revit-based fabrication modeling
-
Strong understanding of sequencing, constructability, and means and methods
-
Experience supporting prefabrication and model-driven installation workflows
-
Ability to communicate effectively with field leadership and external partners

Demonstrated leadership within a BIM or VDC function
Candidates with BIM experience but no real field plumbing background will not align with this role.
