About the Role
My client, a private equity–backed national leader in structural concrete and specialty construction services, is seeking a Post-Tension Superintendent based in Bradenton, Florida to lead field operations for complex PT concrete projects.
This is a critical field leadership role within a well-capitalized, high-growth organization that has the financial strength, private equity backing, and proven strategies to deliver sustained success. With a strong project pipeline across podiums, parking structures, mixed-use, and high-rise developments, this opportunity offers not just stability but also significant long-term career growth.
They are seeking a superintendent with deep post-tension field expertise, strong planning and coordination skills, and the ability to develop crews while partnering effectively with general contractors, engineers, and inspectors.
In this role, you will:
- Lead day-to-day field operations for post-tension scope: pre-pour planning, tendon layout and installation, anchorage, stressing, and grouting
- Own short-interval planning, manpower/equipment scheduling, and look-ahead coordination with GC, concrete, rebar, and formwork teams
- Enforce safety culture and compliance (JHAs, permits, lift plans, toolbox talks); proactively mitigate risks and rectify hazards
- Drive quality control: pre-pour checks, elongation tracking, jack calibration, stressing/grouting records, and as-built documentation per PTI/ACI standards
- Coordinate inspections and RFI responses; collaborate with structural engineers and special inspectors to resolve field issues
- Manage materials, inventory, and logistics (coils, anchors, wedges, grout) to eliminate delays and waste
- Track productivity, costs, and progress; provide daily reports, timekeeping, and input for change orders
- Mentor and develop foremen and crews, reinforcing best practices, craftsmanship, and accountability
What they’re looking for:
- 4+ years of progressive post-tension/concrete field experience, including supervising PT slab/beam/deck work on large projects
- Mastery of PTI/ACI standards, shop drawings, stressing/grouting procedures, elongation calculations, and QC documentation
- Proven track record delivering safe, high-quality work to schedule in fast-paced environments
- Strong communication and coordination skills with GCs, engineers, inspectors, and trade partners
- Tech-savvy with field tools (e.g., Procore/PlanGrid/Bluebeam); proficient with look-ahead planning and basic scheduling
- OSHA 30 required; PTI Level 1 & 2 Field Installation certification strongly preferred (Level 3 a plus)
- Valid driver’s license; willingness to travel regionally as project needs dictate
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
What’s on offer:
- Competitive base salary with bonus opportunity; overtime eligibility as applicable
- Vehicle allowance or company truck, fuel card
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
- 401(k) with company match
- Paid time off and holidays
- Training and development
Why this opportunity stands out:
Backed by a strong private equity partner, my client has the funding and resources to scale aggressively, while maintaining a robust backlog and pipeline of marquee projects. This creates not only stability but also a rare opportunity for ambitious superintendents to grow into senior leadership roles as the company expands nationwide.
If you are a results-driven superintendent who builds safely, plans rigorously, and leads from the front, I would like to hear from you.
